Fans of the Detroit Lions were outraged when head coach Dan Campbell was seen filming a promotional segment with WWE icon Hulk Hogan shortly after Hogan’s speech at the Republican National Convention.

A video clip showcasing the WWE-style promo with Campbell went viral on social media on Thursday. Dressed in a blue bandana, Hogan performed as he did during the height of his fame.

Due to Hogan’s political ties, many fans expressed their dissatisfaction in various comment sections online.

‘I’ve lost a lot of respect for Dan today,’ one viewer remarked. ‘Hogan has a history of racism. This just looks bad.’

‘If I were any of those Detroit Lions players, I’d be looking for an exit strategy when contract negotiations come around,’ another chimed in.

‘That’s a terrible look,’ another user added. A fourth expressed, ‘Yuck, I’ve never been a fan of Hogan.’

Expressions like ‘ew’ and ‘yuck’ frequently appeared in responses to the video on X.

‘Hello, maniacs, Hulk Hogan here, the greatest of all time,’ Hogan proclaims in the clip while Campbell stands alongside him. ‘My new tag team partner, Campbellmania, is going to run wild this year.’

‘This is the year for the Super Bowl, nothing but victory. So what are you going to do when the Detroit Lions and Campbellmania charge at you, brother?’

Last season, Campbell guided the Lions to their first playoff appearance since 2016 and their first divisional playoff game since 1991.
