Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson of the Minnesota Vikings may hold the record for the highest-paid receiver in NFL history, but he isn’t about to frivolously spend his wealth on opulent properties.
During the 2023 filming of Netflix’s series, Receiver, it was revealed that Jefferson resided in a humble townhouse in the Minneapolis area.
However, since the completion of filming, Jefferson secured a lucrative four-year, $140 million contract, granting him an annual salary of $35 million—the largest for any wide receiver in the league.
Remarkably, the 25-year-old isn’t rushing to invest his newfound wealth in an extravagant residence, as he shared with reporters at training camp this week.
‘I’m just one person; I don’t have a large family,’ Jefferson stated, being the father of a baby girl. ‘I don’t need to live in a $10 million mansion; that’s not my background.’
‘My parents always appreciated what they had, and I am thankful for my upbringing,’ he further explained. ‘I didn’t grow up in a big house—perhaps I’ll consider it in the future, or maybe not. Time will tell.’

Jefferson, who hails from Louisiana, rose to prominence while playing for LSU’s football team. His parents, John and Elaine Jefferson, are regularly featured in the Netflix series.
The series, Receiver, highlights five pass catchers during the 2023 NFL season, including Jefferson, Las Vegas Raiders’ Davante Adams, San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle, his fellow receiver Deebo Samuel, and Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown.
This new series is a follow-up to NFL Films’ project ‘Quarterback,’ which provided an inside look at quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes II.
Regarding the standout feature of Receiver, Jefferson mentions the fun moments of trash talk captured while he was mic’d up during games.
‘I think everyone’s favorite clip is from the Detroit game where I was trash-talking and just playing my game,’ Jefferson shared, as cited by Minneapolis’ Fox 9. ‘It gives people a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes dynamic of our conversations during games, showcasing our emotions and competitive spirit.’

Earlier this month, a family court judge in New Jersey confirmed Jefferson’s status as the father of a baby girl.
The ruling, issued by Judge Aldo J Russo on June 26 and obtained by DailyMail.com, indicated that an ‘interim child support obligation’ had been reached between Jefferson and the child’s mother, Andrea Galea.
In February, DailyMail.com reported that Galea alleged that Jefferson pressured her to terminate the pregnancy after she became pregnant in 2023. At that time, his attorney did not respond to the accusations. Galea chose to carry the baby to term, welcoming their daughter Stella in December as stated in her paternity lawsuit.
Both Jefferson and Galea requested paternity testing in their counterclaims filed in January, with Galea also seeking financial support and healthcare from Jefferson.
When reached for comments, Jefferson’s attorney declined to respond, and Galea’s representatives did not reply to inquiries.

Galea also pushed for financial support and healthcare coverage from Jefferson
Judge Russo’s decision established a framework for visitation, requiring both parents to communicate about their child and allowing the All-Pro player to FaceTime with his daughter during a recent trip that Galea took to Italy.
Galea, a University of Miami Law School alumna, previously attended LSU alongside Jefferson.
Their romantic relationship began in 2019 but faded over time. They reconnected in April 2023, as detailed in her paternity lawsuit filed on January 19, which claims Jefferson fathered the child in that April.
In January, Jefferson filed to prevent Galea from publicly discussing their child on social media.
Despite remaining active online, Galea hasn’t shared a photo of Stella on her Instagram since May 5.
Selected as the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Jefferson has made a significant impact for the Vikings.
He averages an impressive 98.3 receiving yards per game in his career—the highest in NFL history—and is already a three-time Pro Bowl selection who received the Offensive Player of the Year award in 2022.
Last season, Jefferson faced an injury that sidelined him for seven games on a Vikings team now transitioning from quarterback Kirk Cousins to free agent Sam Darnold and rookie JJ McCarthy.
