New England Patriots player Christian Barmore has been diagnosed with blood clots following treatment at a Massachusetts hospital.
At this moment, there is no estimated timeline for Barmore’s return, especially with just six weeks remaining until the NFL season begins.
‘This past weekend, Christian Barmore was diagnosed with blood clots,’ the Patriots disclosed on Sunday, coinciding with Barmore’s 25th birthday.
‘He received the necessary care from the doctors at Mass General Brigham, who conducted tests and evaluations. Our primary focus right now is Christian’s health and wellbeing.
‘Fortunately, Mass General Brigham is known for providing some of the finest healthcare globally. While there is no set timeline for his return, we are confident that Christian is receiving excellent care, and we anticipate his full recovery.’

Barmore’s agent, Nicole Lynn, also expressed her gratitude, stating, ‘I must extend my thanks to the Patriots’ trainer, Jim Whalen, for his unwavering diligence and care over the past few days.’
‘Today could have unfolded in a considerably different manner without Jim’s persistence and expertise.’
Barmore is entering his fourth season in the NFL and recently signed a four-year, $84 million extension with the Patriots in April, making him one of the league’s highest-paid defensive tackles.
Drafted in the second round from Alabama by the Patriots in 2021, Barmore has recorded 133 tackles, 12.5 sacks, and 32 quarterback hits across 44 games, including 11 starts.
