- Adam Peaty claimed a silver medal in the men’s 100m breaststroke final on Sunday
- The 29-year-old Team GB star had previously won gold in this event at both Rio and Tokyo

Adam Peaty was comforted by his family in Paris shortly after narrowly missing out on his fourth Olympic gold medal.
The 29-year-old from Uttoxeter had to accept silver in the men’s 100m breaststroke after finishing just 0.02 seconds behind Italy’s Nicolo Martinenghi.
Peaty, who previously clinched this event in Rio and Tokyo, was seen embracing his three-year-old son in the stands soon after the final.
He also shared a heartfelt moment with his girlfriend Holly Ramsey, daughter of renowned TV chef Gordon Ramsey.
Peaty had mentioned earlier in the week that his son regularly asks him, ‘Daddy, are you the fastest boy?’

Peaty was emotional after the final but mentioned he was crying ‘happy tears’
While the response to his son’s question on Sunday night was ‘no’, Peaty expressed satisfaction with his latest Olympic endeavor.
‘I gave my all,’ said the visibly moved Team GB icon.
‘It’s not just about the final outcome, but rather the journey.’
‘In my heart, I’ve already won. I’m not upset about coming second at all. These are happy tears.’
‘I feel like I’m getting older now, and maintaining that relentless pursuit involves sacrifices. Competing with younger athletes can be quite tough.’
