Jonathan Owens may not have been in Paris on Sunday to cheer for his wife, Simone Biles, but he showed his support from a distance after she executed a perfect vault routine.
Engaged in training camp with the Bears, Owens shared a proud Instagram story showcasing Biles as he watched her perform late at night from the USA.
“Flawless,” he wrote, adding a photo of her after her vault routine on his Instagram story.
Biles scored an impressive 15.300 across her two vaults and concluded the day at the top of the overall leaderboard with a total score of 59.566.
Soon, she will have her husband by her side, as the Bears have granted him permission to travel to Paris from July 29 to August 3.

Owens is set to miss seven training practice sessions during this exception.
“This is out of respect for the Olympics,” stated Bears coach Matt Eberflus last week, according to ESPN.
“It’s significant, and he’s just there to support the one he cares about most. It’s wonderful that he gets this opportunity. We welcome it, and it’s going to be fantastic. Go USA!”
The 27-year-old Biles encountered a calf injury on Sunday after an awkward landing during the warmup.
Her coach, Cecile Landi, informed the media that the accomplished Olympian had been managing calf pain in recent weeks.
Despite this, she stands atop the competition and has much to celebrate.
Biles, a four-time gold medalist, was noticeably absent from the opening ceremony on Friday.
Her parents later explained in an NBC interview that she needed to conserve her strength before the women’s qualifier on Sunday.
Her teammates Suni Lee, Hezly Rivera, Jordan Chiles, and Jade Carey also opted out of the event, which featured athletes traveling on boats down the Seine.
Additionally, this marks Biles’ third Olympic appearance, so she is likely familiar with the festivities she chose to miss this time.
