CNN political commentator Scott Jennings criticized Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday for attempting to “erase all evidence” of her role as “border czar” while flip-flopping on crucial topics.
During a segment on “CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip,” former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin proposed that Democrats might leverage immigration issues to their advantage against Republicans.
She affirmed Harris’s statement about Democrats wanting more Customs and Border Patrol officers and committing to address the fentanyl crisis before Republicans blocked the “most conservative border bill in decades.”
In response, Jennings remarked that it was implausible for Democrats to think they could achieve a “draw” on immigration against former President Trump.

“I hope they run all their ads on immigration because it will remind the American public what a total failure this has been,” he stated.
“If they are really proud of their record, why is [Harris] exerting so much effort to erase all traces from the internet that she was the border czar?” he added.
Jennings later questioned former Ohio state senator Nina Turner about her feelings regarding Harris’s attempts to “repudiate and escape” from the significant issues she advocated for in 2019.
“Somewhat,” Turner responded. “She has a chance to be in the forefront. She has a chance. Scott, I see this as an opportunity; yes, hearing that she might abandon support for Medicare for all doesn’t sit well with me. However, she has the opportunity as the leader to truly take charge.”

In the week following her re-entry into the presidential race after President Biden’s withdrawal, Harris is distancing herself from several far-left positions she previously supported.
Regarding fracking, a significant issue in Pennsylvania, a pivotal battleground state for the 2024 election, her campaign announced on Friday that she will not pursue a ban on fracking if elected president.
Furthermore, Harris’s campaign officials indicated this week that she now endorses the Biden administration’s budget proposals for increased border enforcement, has changed her stance on single-payer health insurance, and supports Biden’s request to prohibit assault weapons—while opposing any requirement for private gun owners to sell their weapons to the federal government.
