Jax Taylor, known for his role on Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules” and currently featured in the spinoff series “The Valley,” has checked into a mental health facility due to ongoing issues in his marriage with Brittany Cartwright.

“Jax has always been open about his mental health challenges, particularly in the last few months on his podcast, ‘When Reality Hits,'” his representative informed Entertainment Tonight. “He has opted for in-patient treatment. This is a crucial time for him and his family, and they request privacy and understanding until he feels prepared to discuss this further.”

A spokesperson for Taylor did not immediately reply to Fox News Digital’s inquiry for comments.

The couple, who began their relationship in 2015 and tied the knot in 2018, announced their split in February. Their relationship struggles were evident in the first season of “The Valley,” which aired earlier this year.

Cartwright discussed their separation with Us Weekly on the “When Reality Hits” podcast in February, stating that she and Taylor were “taking time apart.”

“If you feel like your partner doesn’t want you and they’re being unkind, you start to wonder, ‘What am I doing here?’ It feels like living with a roommate.”

“I’ve forgiven Jax for numerous things that I probably shouldn’t have over the years. I supported him through it all. But after nine years, it’s exhausting,” the 35-year-old shared with the outlet.

Throughout their relationship, fans have witnessed various cheating scandals and ongoing challenges.

Cartwright expressed that the situation is in Taylor’s hands and highlighted her disappointment at what she perceives as his lack of effort to mend the relationship.

“I don’t believe he thought I would actually leave, and now it’s been three months,” Cartwright remarked to Us Weekly. “He seemed to think I would return and everything would revert to normal, but that’s not the case.”

Among the challenges in their marriage was a lack of intimacy, which Cartwright described as a “sexless marriage,” contributing to a decline in her self-esteem.

“Maintaining romance is key for longevity. If we aim for 20 years together, we must keep the spark alive, but it’s dwindled significantly,” she expressed. “It hurt my confidence—wondering why he wasn’t pursuing me. I felt inadequate.”

“When you start feeling unwanted by your partner, combined with unkind behavior, it leads to questions of your purpose there. It felt like I was sharing space with a roommate. I reached my limit.”

Cartwright remarked that she still loves him but acknowledged that things between them have changed and stressed the need for Taylor to make significant improvements, expressing dissatisfaction with the current effort.

“He needs to attend therapy. Staying out at bars constantly is not the solution. He must treat me with respect and stop taking me for granted. I was his closest confidante and often his target for jabs. I can’t endure that indefinitely,” she stated.

In May, during a podcast episode, Taylor updated listeners on their relationship’s status.

“We are in the process of addressing numerous issues: therapy, separation, and possibly exploring dating other people,” he revealed. “We’re attempting to work through everything before considering divorce — if that becomes necessary.”
