Team GB’s Beth Shriever was commended for her ‘mature’ interview following her eighth-place finish in the BMX final at the Olympics.
Though Shriever was anticipated to win gold, she maintained a positive outlook despite the setback.
The 25-year-old expressed appreciation for the atmosphere in France and emphasized that she enjoyed her experience at the Games.
Shriever shared with BBC Sport: ‘I’ve cherished every moment here.
‘Things don’t always unfold as expected, that’s just how life is. I put my heart into this. I’m happy, I’m healthy, and having my friends and family here means the world to me.

When asked about the atmosphere, Shriever remarked: ‘It’s incredible. With the men finishing 1, 2, and 3, I’ve never felt anything like it. It’s incredible. I’ve had a fantastic time. It is what it is.’
‘I just had a slow start this time. Every other time, it was fine. I think the other girls took off well and it threw me off, but it’s all good. I’m happy.’
