Mariah Carey proudly embraces motherhood with her 13-year-old twins, Monroe and Moroccan, who she co-parents with her ex, Nick Cannon.
In a rare interview, Carey, 55, expressed that her beloved teenagers do not exhibit the same “evil” tendencies she had in her youth.
“I love them dearly,” the pop star shared with E! News. “They’re truly wonderful kids… I wouldn’t label them as bad or evil like I was… they’re very intelligent, and they always make me laugh — and… I’m their mommy.”

Moroccan and Monroe are Cannon’s first children. He has 10 younger children with five other mothers.
The “Always Be My Baby” artist provided further details on her parenting style with the teenage duo.
“Am I strict? No,” Carey noted. “Am I easygoing? Probably. I don’t want to be the one who’s treated like the boring adult that they don’t want to spend time with.”

Recently, Carey noted that her twins came to support her during her Las Vegas residency.
“They expressed interest in attending the show the other night,” she mentioned. “But… I wasn’t sure if they genuinely wanted to go or if it was someone else suggesting it. You can never tell!”

In 2022, the self-proclaimed “Queen of Christmas” opened up about how her “difficult” childhood inspired her love for the holiday season.
In an interview with W Magazine, the pop star revealed the backstory behind her beloved holiday hit, “All I Want for Christmas.”
“The concept of creating a Christmas album was proposed by the record company,” Carey detailed.

“It felt too soon for me to tackle a Christmas album early in my career, but I thought, ‘I adore Christmas.’ Despite having some very unhappy Christmases as a child, I always sought to find the silver lining.”
The six-time Grammy winner shared that she composed the 1994 classic late one night while experimenting with a keyboard and walking through her former home with ex-husband Tommy Mottola.

As Carey and Cannon navigate parenting their twins, Cannon’s family continues to grow.

Cannon welcomed his twelfth child in December 2022 with Alyssa Scott. They also had a son who tragically passed away in 2021 at the age of five months.
He has three children with model Brittany Bell, as well as a set of twins and a daughter with radio host Abby De La Rosa.
Reality TV star Brie Tiesi and model LaNisha Cole each have one child with Cannon.
