Team GB has had an outstanding rowing Olympics – three golds, two silvers, and three bronzes. This represents our best-ever performance at an overseas Games.

Hats off to Romania for holding off fierce competition. With every crew member, except the cox, having raced earlier this week and narrowly missing gold, they certainly deserved their moment of glory.

Watch: Great Britain secures their first gold of the day with a tenacious race finale

Scenes of jubilation and exhaustion for the men’s eight

Cox Harry Brightmore was visibly ecstatic. The heartfelt smile at the finish was touching.

This crew has endured heartache both on the water and in their personal lives, and this victory is a testament to their resilience.

They appeared somewhat drained after that race. It wasn’t merely a race of 5 minutes and 22 seconds; it was the result of years of hard work.

Gold for Team GB men’s eight as they conquer the ghosts of Tokyo

The shadows from Tokyo have been lifted, and Great Britain’s men’s eight crew are Olympic champions!

After the bittersweet feeling of a third-place finish three years ago, they finally secured that coveted gold.

A truly remarkable race. The Dutch team pushed hard in the final 200 meters, cranking up to 44 strokes per minute, but Team GB responded superbly to seize victory.

The Netherlands took the silver medal, with the USA finishing third.

Great Britain celebrates their bronze win

While the British crew may have appeared slightly morose after the race, that initial reaction faded once the reality of their Olympic achievement set in – they are medalists! All those early morning training sessions have paid off.

Their joy was evident during the post-race interviews.

Holly Dunford: ‘It was an extraordinary experience. We gave everything and can be immensely proud of our performance.’

Eve Stewart: ‘I’m just elated to be here! I can’t express how that feels.’

Emily Ford: ‘Throughout the race, we trusted each other and the process. We learned to believe in ourselves, and it paid off. This medal signifies our past efforts, our current achievements, our family support, and all those who help fund us through the National Lottery.’

Watch: How Team GB secured bronze

Team GB fighting back in hockey

The women’s team faced a challenging match, conceding two rapid goals in the third quarter.

With Raposo Ruiz and Albertarrio scoring first, Team GB must regroup quickly.

Even if they lose, they will still advance, but a draw would not be ideal.

It was lovely to see Andy Murray out in Paris this morning, wrapped in a British flag and wearing his team kit.

He was spotted at the Yves du Manoir Stadium, supporting the Team GB women’s hockey squad as they faced Argentina.

The match is currently in the second quarter, tied at 0-0, but this is a critical match as their group placement will impact their quarter-final matchup.
