Pep Guardiola has indicated he will shorten his half-time talks after Manchester City faced a £2million penalty from the Premier League due to late kick-offs.
The fine was imposed for 22 infractions over the last two seasons.
One of the notable incidents was when the team nearly delayed the restart of the second half by almost three minutes during their title-clinching match against West Ham at the Etihad Stadium.
Guardiola addressed the fine ahead of a friendly match against Chelsea in Columbus, Ohio, stating: ‘I saw it in the news. I will try to reduce the length of my half-time speeches.’
On the topic of Enzo Maresca, who is now coaching Chelsea, Guardiola remarked, ‘I’m really happy for him. We had a special year together. More than just being part of the second team, he is an incredible, kind person, as is his family.
