Well-known comedian Andrew Schulz believes that former President Trump is the far more “alluring” candidate for president in this election cycle.
In a segment from “The Brilliant Idiots” podcast, which Schulz co-hosts with African American radio personality Charlamagne tha God, the comedian shared his candid thoughts on the former president, acknowledging that the idea of voting for him is appealing, particularly since the Democratic Party lacks anyone as captivating.
“He’s extremely alluring. He’s incredibly engaging, and I think he’s attractive because the Democrats have completely failed to excite us in any conceivable way,” Schulz expressed in a excerpt highlighted by The Daily Caller.

The co-host went on to mention that Vice President Harris, who is anticipated to be the Democratic nominee, faces a significant challenge in trying to spark enthusiasm among voters.
“And that weight is now on Kamala,” he remarked, mispronouncing her name, prompting Charlamagne to correct him mid-sentence. “Sorry, Kamala,” he said, making the correction.
He took a jab at the party for choosing Harris as Biden’s successor without her having won any primary elections, stating that she “is not the nominee through a democratic process.”
“So she carries a tremendous responsibility to motivate,” he said, before praising Trump once more, adding, “It’s refreshing to see someone challenging the system, especially when you feel the systems have let you down.”
Charlamagne, a Democratic voter who has publicly stated he would never vote for Trump, considering him a “threat to democracy,” intervened with some skepticism.

“Is he still challenging the system?” the co-host questioned, to which Schulz replied that it matters only if Trump appears to be defying the system.
“No, no, no, no, no. It’s not about whether he is or isn’t; it’s the perception that he is,” he clarified. “If you feel let down by the pharmaceutical industry and he’s out there questioning it, you’re like, ‘Ooh, I kind of like that.’ If you feel disillusioned with the military-industrial complex due to ongoing wars and he claims, ‘We’re going to stop these wars,’ you’re like, ‘Ooh, I like that.’”

“Because you know if Kamala is in office, we ain’t stopping any wars,” Schulz asserted.
One of the podcast’s producers chimed in off-screen, challenging Schulz by asking if Trump’s appeal might simply stem from Americans’ preference for entertainment over substance. Schulz responded by clarifying that while voting for Trump is “alluring,” it’s not necessarily a decision that should be acted upon.
“What I meant is he’s very enticing,” he elaborated, adding, “The allure comes from the fact that he’s criticizing these institutions that have disappointed me and many Americans. So, if you’re skeptical of institutions I’ve lost trust in, naturally, I’m inclined to think, ‘Alright, that sounds promising.’”
He continued, explaining, “And if the other candidate isn’t also critical of them, I begin to question, ‘Wait a minute, are you just aligned with these institutions that keep failing the American people?'”
Schulz noted that he believes this is the mindset of many moderate American voters today.
