What can’t Simone Biles achieve?

The gymnastics phenom from the USA has already secured two gold medals at the Paris Games held in France and aims for a third on Saturday in the vault competition.

As her fame grows, a memorable moment from 2019 is once again getting attention on social media—her opening pitch at a Houston Astros game.

At Minute Maid Park during Game 2 of the World Series, Biles amazed the crowd with a standing backflip just in front of the mound before delivering a perfect pitch.

While sporting an orange Astros jersey, her presence didn’t prove to be a good luck charm for the team—the Astros faced a 12-3 defeat to the Washington Nationals, who went on to make a surprising 4-3 series win.

Fast forward five years, and Biles is undoubtedly not regretting her luck this time.

She clinched gold in the all-around competition on Friday, following her team gold in France, making her the USA’s most decorated Olympic gymnast.

After competing on Saturday, she has two more events scheduled for Monday morning—the balance beam final and the floor exercise final.

Reflecting on her second gold in the all-around on Thursday, Biles mentioned it was the most intense competition she’s participated in due to the pressure from her Brazilian competitor, Rebeca Andrade.

‘I’m exhausted competing against Rebeca. It’s stressing me out,’ Biles joked with the media.

‘She’s way too close to me. I’ve never had anyone challenge me so closely, which surely pushed me to give my best performance.

‘While I am excited and proud to compete alongside her, I must admit that the pressure is quite uncomfortable for me. I really dislike that feeling. It was quite stressful.’

Sunisa Lee, Biles’ U.S. teammate and bronze medalist, echoed her sentiments, stating: ‘I’ve never seen you that stressed before!’
