Simone Biles has solidified her status as one of the all-time greats in gymnastics after securing the gold medal in the women’s vault final this past Saturday, which marks her third gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Biles now stands as only the second woman in Olympic history to clinch the vault title twice, having previously triumphed at the 2016 Summer Games in Rio.
Entering the final with the top qualifying score of 15.800, Biles surpassed her closest rival, Rebeca Andrade from Brazil, by more than half a point.

She executed the challenging Yurchenko double pike vault – a move named after her following her groundbreaking performance in 2023, where she became the first female gymnast to complete it in an international event – in her first attempt, earning a score of 15.700.
Following that, she performed a less complex vault, receiving a score of 14.900, resulting in an average score of 15.300, placing her in the lead.
