Simone Biles is fully embracing this special moment.
Biles has solidified her reputation as one of the greatest gymnasts in history after earning the gold medal in the women’s vault final on Saturday, bringing her total to three gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Biles is only the second woman in Olympic history to win the vault event twice, having achieved this at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

This marks her third Olympic participation – only five individuals have competed in four Olympics.
Biles will turn 31 by the 2028 Los Angeles Games, and though she shows no signs of easing up in Paris, that age is generally considered “senior” in gymnastics.
Despite this, Biles continues to rewrite the record books and simply wishes to enjoy her achievements. Consequently, she subtly addressed the media and others who frequently pose the same question.

“You guys really need to stop asking athletes what comes next after they win a medal at the Olympics. Let us enjoy the moment we’ve dedicated our lives to,” the now seven-time Olympic gold medalist wrote on X on Sunday.
Earlier this week, she secured gold in the women’s gymnastics all-around team final, surpassing Shannon Miller to become the American gymnast with the most Olympic medals, totaling eight. On Thursday, Biles further pursued glory in the women’s individual all-around, earning her sixth gold medal with an impressive floor exercise.

The future is uncertain for Biles, but it’s exciting to consider what lies ahead, given her ongoing success.
