Pau Victor netted twice as Barcelona triumphed over their Spanish rivals and La Liga titleholders Real Madrid in a friendly held in the United States.

Real Madrid was missing England star Jude Bellingham and French forward Kylian Mbappe, as both were absent from the club’s US tour following their participation in the summer European Championship in Germany for their national teams.

This matchup marked the season’s first El Clasico, taking place at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, and was temporarily halted for 12 minutes due to a severe storm.

After a delay of over an hour, play resumed, and Barcelona gained the advantage just before halftime when the 22-year-old forward Victor scored with a header from a pass by Robert Lewandowski.

Thibaut Courtois made a solid stop from a Lewandowski attempt, but Victor managed to secure his second goal shortly after the break, extending Hansi Flick’s team’s lead.

Late in the game, Nico Paz scored for Real Madrid with a header, but Barcelona maintained their composure to earn the win.

With his two goals, Victor has now tallied three goals across Barcelona’s two matches during their US tour, having also scored in a 2-2 draw against Premier League champions Manchester City earlier this week.
