Celtic commenced their title defence in the Premiership with a comfortable 4-0 victory against Kilmarnock at home.
Reo Hatate opened the scoring after 17 minutes with a composed finish from the penalty area’s edge. Just before halftime, Celtic extended their advantage when Liam Scales connected with a corner from Matt O’Riley, heading it inside the far post.
Nicolas-Gerrit Kühn netted the third goal an hour into the match, as his shot deflected over Kilmarnock’s goalkeeper, Robby McCrorie. Anthony Ralston completed the scoreline during stoppage time, marking his first goal for Celtic since 2021.
Dundee managed to equalize twice to deny their city rivals Dundee United a win in an exciting 2-2 draw. The newly promoted team went into halftime leading following goals from Kristijan Trapanovski and Miller Thomson, interspersed with an equalizer from Dundee’s Seb Palmer-Houlden. Tony Docherty’s team managed to claim a point with a late penalty converted by their captain, Luke McCowan.

St Mirren continued their promising form from midweek with a solid 3-0 win over Hibernian. Following their qualification for the next round of the Uefa Conference League with a 4-1 victory against the Icelandic team Valur on Thursday, the home side took the lead just three minutes into the second half through Roland Idowu. Substitute Oisin Smyth scored a second in the 77th minute and added a third two minutes later to secure a well-deserved triumph.
