As Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and her yet-to-be-revealed running mate embark on their campaign tour this week across all seven pivotal battleground states, Republican vice presidential nominee Senator JD Vance will be closely following.

The freshman senator from Ohio, who is running alongside former President Trump on the GOP national ticket, aims to shadow Harris as part of the Trump campaign’s strategy to bracket the vice president and her running mate during their initial swing through the states.

Sources within the senator’s political circle have informed Fox News that Vance intends to be in Philadelphia on Tuesday for the vice president’s campaign launch.

The senator is anticipated to utilize his appearances, characterized as media opportunities instead of typical rallies, to criticize Harris on significant issues such as inflation, border security, and crime—areas viewed by Republicans as the vice president’s vulnerabilities.

The events involving Vance, initially reported by Politico earlier on Monday, are also set to feature “everyday Americans” adversely affected by President Biden’s administration.

Vance is expected to remain close to Harris and her running mate as the Democratic team conducts rallies in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Detroit, Michigan, on Wednesday, followed by a stop in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Thursday.

The proximity of Vance to Harris is indicative of his emerging role as the GOP ticket’s primary attack spokesperson, as well as a key liaison to the influential Republican donor network.

However, Trump, known for his direct communication style, has not shied away from openly criticizing Harris since she ascended to the Democrats’ lead position.

During social media remarks this past weekend and at the rally with Vance in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday, Trump accused the vice president of having a “low IQ,” labeled her “dumb,” and claimed she lacked “mental capacity.”
