The rivalry between the New York Giants and Detroit Lions didn’t ease up overnight — it actually heated up further.

Multiple confrontations erupted during the joint training camp practices on Monday, and Tuesday proved to be no different.

The Lions are in New Jersey in preparation for their preseason opener against the Giants at MetLife Stadium on Thursday, engaging in practice sessions on both Monday and Tuesday.

On Monday, Daniel Jones was involved in one of the escalations, while Amon-Ra St. Brown was in another. By Tuesday, it was Jones’ standout rookie receiver, Malik Nabers, who found himself entangled.

Nabers couldn’t secure a one-on-one catch against Terrion Arnold and, upon returning to the huddle, he pushed his hand into Kerby Joseph’s facemask.

Joseph retaliated by rushing back toward Nabers and landing the first punch, leading to an exchange of several hard hits — both players still wearing their helmets and guardian caps.

As people tried to separate the two, Devin Singletary and Brian Branch also squared off, throwing punches at each other, but that clash was quickly halted.

Reports indicate that practice concluded early during kickoff drills due to the ongoing clashes.

Nabers mentioned that Joseph said something to him, but he didn’t disclose the specifics.

The Giants faced a disappointing season, finishing with a 6-11 record after unexpectedly making the playoffs in 2022. As depicted in “Hard Knocks,” they seem significantly stronger on paper with the addition of Brian Burns, new offensive linemen, and drafting Malik Nabers as the sixth overall pick.

Meanwhile, the Lions were agonizingly close to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance but squandered a 24-7 halftime lead against the San Francisco 49ers.
