A young boy and his grandfather are delighting audiences on social media after a heartwarming mashup video of their relationship amassed nearly one million views on TikTok.
The grandfather, affectionately nicknamed “Bop,” shares a strong bond with his 2-year-old grandson, Brooks Vanhoy.
Brooks’ mother, Shelby Vanhoy, shared with Fox News Digital via email that her family relocated from New York City to North Carolina to be near relatives, which deepened her son’s connection with his grandfather, Mike Vanhoy.

The 33-year-old mother, who is involved in social media production and interior decorating, mentioned that her father visits every Thursday morning to spend time with Brooks while she works.

“Bop is retired and has been coming over every Thursday morning for ‘Bop Day’ since we relocated to North Carolina,” she explained.
She added, “As soon as Brooks sees Bop’s truck outside, he jumps up and down with excitement, shouting, ‘Bop’s here!'”

The TikTok clip features Brooks energetically rushing to the front door multiple times to greet Bop as he arrives.
“The joy is always contagious,” Vanhoy remarked.

“They’re best friends,” she further expressed. “I believe their friendship has brought a lot of happiness to my dad’s life.”

Vanhoy noted that her father earned the nickname “Bop” when she was trying to teach Brooks to say “Pop.”
“Bop just stuck, and it seems like it will remain Bop forever,” she reflected.
