Pamela Anderson is ready to move on from her past.

The former Playboy icon expressed that she feels “distant” from her earlier role as a sex symbol and seeks to distance herself from Hollywood.

The “Baywatch” actress shared how she has started to embrace her natural beauty, opting for a no-makeup look.

“This marked the start of my release from the self-image I always had,” she remarked in an interview with Better Homes & Gardens.

“What was this cartoon character I had created? Sure, it was fun, but that’s not who I am anymore.”

Though she achieved fame, Anderson revealed that she wasn’t in a “good place” when she decided to retreat from Hollywood and return to Canada.

“I’m not sure what shifted over the past decades, but I feel incredibly disconnected from the person I once was. I knew sadness and solitude. I felt not just misunderstood, but like I had genuinely failed, with my life turning into a series of mistakes,” she shared with the magazine.

“I was tough on myself, aware of the strain I caused my family and children. Eventually, I reached a point where I chose to return home and focus on my garden.”

Anderson made her debut in Playboy magazine as Playmate of the Month in February 1990. She quickly became well-known for her frequent features in Hugh Hefner’s Playboy, ultimately becoming the magazine’s most recurring cover star.

Her acting career skyrocketed when she was cast as C.J. Parker in “Baywatch,” a popular series that ran from 1992 to 1997.

The mother of two, she shares sons Brandon and Dylan with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee. Anderson and Lee were married from 1995 to 1998.

Anderson is thrilled to leave her past behind and has no regrets about trading her previous Hollywood fame for a more tranquil lifestyle.

“People have this exaggerated notion of me stemming from Playboy to ‘Baywatch,’ to my relationships with my rock star husbands, and much more. However, as much as I enjoyed hosting dinner parties and cooking for my family and kids, that wasn’t the public image,” she noted.

“I also played into the narrative that was crafted around me. While I appreciate that era, I’m truly grateful for where I am today. Surviving through it all is what matters most. Now, I find immense relief in simply being myself and savoring this phase of life.”
