As Kamala Harris advocates for her candidacy for president, Fox News Digital surveyed individuals in New York, Michigan, and Texas regarding some of her more contentious issues.
Trevor and Lee from Houston both rated Harris’ handling of the border unsatisfactorily.
“We just have to be honest about what we see,” Lee stated. “The border situation is evident. She’s not making the grade.”

“The influx of illegal immigrants is alarming; they are coming in huge numbers, and that is concerning,” Trevor remarked. “She is accountable for the current state of the open border.”
However, George from New York City commented that it’s “difficult to assess” Harris’ effectiveness “as she’s essentially working under someone else.”
Hailey from Houston shared similar sentiments.
“I’m not sure what her role is regarding the border,” she noted. “As vice president, I doubt they have as much involvement as the president does.”
The Biden administration has overseen record-breaking levels of illegal immigration. While annual migrant encounters fluctuated from approximately 303,916 to 851,508 during Trump’s presidency, encounters skyrocketed to 1,734,686 in Biden’s inaugural year.
Encounters at the border continued to escalate, reaching 2.5 million in 2023 and 1.8 million with three months remaining in the fiscal year 2024.
“I’ve definitely noticed a significant increase in border crossings,” Hailey remarked. “I don’t believe the transition from one president to the next has really made much of a difference. But it certainly needs addressing, as many are suffering and this is problematic.”

Fox News Digital also sought opinions from Americans regarding Harris’ position on imposing term limits for Supreme Court justices.
Recently, President Biden and Vice President Harris urged Congress to set term limits and establish a code of conduct for the Supreme Court. Biden, having spent 36 years in the U.S. Senate, suggested an 18-year term limit for justices.
Many individuals surveyed by Fox News Digital were receptive to term limits, extending beyond just the Supreme Court.
“I believe a lot of Congress — and government overall — is quite aged,” stated Alvin from Queens, New York. “Therefore, implementing term limits would certainly be beneficial.”

Hailey from Houston suggested that even local governments could benefit from implementing term limits.
“How can you effectively represent the people’s interests if the same individuals keep dominating those positions with the same mindset?” she questioned.
