West Ham United’s skipper Kurt Zouma is on the verge of transferring to the United Arab Emirates.
Zouma is currently in negotiations with Shabab Al-Ahli, based in Dubai, and a contract is anticipated to be finalized shortly.
At 29 years old, he has one year remaining on his contract with the London Stadium and ranks among the top earners at the club.
Since joining West Ham for £29 million from Chelsea in 2021, Zouma has made over 100 appearances and was a starter in the Europa Conference League final triumph against Fiorentina in 2023.
He was appointed club captain at the beginning of the previous season after Declan Rice’s transfer to Arsenal.
In 2022, Zouma was sentenced to 180 hours of community service for pleading guilty to kicking and slapping his cat.
This summer, West Ham has invested over £100 million following the hiring of Julen Lopetegui as manager.
Among the signings are Max Kilman, the former Wolves captain, arriving in a £40 million deal, as well as Dutch forward Crysencio Summerville, German striker Niclas Fullkrug, Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme, and Argentine midfielder Guido Rodriguez.
