Newcastle United have completed the signing of Danish Under-21 forward William Osula from Sheffield United.
The 21-year-old has joined the Magpies for a reported transfer fee of £15 million, after netting three goals in 31 appearances for the Blades.
Osula, who has represented Denmark at the U21 level five times, made 21 Premier League appearances last season as Chris Wilder’s team faced relegation to the Championship.
“Newcastle is a big club, a fantastic club, so I’m thrilled to have the chance to join Newcastle United,” remarked Osula.
“This is an excellent opportunity, and when I learned of Newcastle’s interest, I was determined to seize the chance to be a part of this club.”
Newcastle’s manager, Eddie Howe, stated that the club has been monitoring Osula’s progress for a considerable time.
“William is a gifted young striker with the potential to be an exciting player for Newcastle United,” Howe commented.
“We have closely followed his development, and we are thrilled to have the chance to work with him in this next chapter of his career.”
Osula marks Newcastle’s sixth signing of the summer, joining Miodrag Pivas, Odysseas Vlachodimos, John Ruddy, Lloyd Kelly, and Lewis Hall.
