Bournemouth has secured the signing of young Juventus defender Dean Huijsen on a six-year contract for an initial fee of £12.8m.
The agreement for the 19-year-old may increase to £15.3m with performance-related add-ons, to be paid out over a five-year period.
He becomes the fourth signing of the summer for the club, following the arrivals of Alex Paulsen, Daniel Jebbison, and a permanent transfer for Enes Unal, who originally joined on loan from Getafe in January.
Born in the Netherlands, Huijsen has represented his country in various youth levels up to under-19s.
He relocated to Spain at the age of five and obtained Spanish citizenship earlier this year, making his debut with the under-21s in March.
Huijsen joins the south coast team after completing 13 appearances on loan with Roma in the latter part of last season.
“We are thrilled to add a player of such significant quality to our roster for the long term,” stated Bournemouth’s chief executive Neill Blake.
“Dean possesses remarkable potential, and we are eager to see how his journey with the club unfolds.
“We can’t wait to welcome him to the Vitality Stadium and collaborate on further refining the skills he already brings.”
