Liam Rosenior, the former manager of Hull City, has been named the new head coach of the French side RC Strasbourg.
At 40 years old, Rosenior guided the Tigers to a commendable seventh position in the Championship during the past season; however, he was dismissed in May after the team failed to qualify for the play-offs.
He takes over from Patrick Vieira, who departed Strasbourg by mutual agreement on July 18.
Rosenior expressed his enthusiasm by stating, “I am delighted to join Racing, a prestigious French club known for its passionate and loyal supporters.”
He added on Strasbourg’s official website, “I will strive to make the [Stade de la] Meinau proud of its team and players. I am eager to get started.”
The club in Alsace is owned by BlueCo, the investment group led by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, who also own Chelsea.
Last season, Strasbourg finished in 13th place out of 20 in Ligue 1.
Club president Marc Keller remarked, “We are excited to welcome Liam, a dynamic coach noted for his capacity to inspire attractive play and aid his players’ development.”
