After capitalizing on Theo Bair’s unexpected breakout as a prolific scorer during his solitary season following his release from St Johnstone, Motherwell’s manager Stuart Kettlewell is now focused on finding replacements for the Canadian international who was sold to Auxerre.

Filip Stuparevic, previously with Slovenian outfit Domzale, Zach Robinson—who was loaned to Dundee from Wimbledon last season—and Moses Ebiye, the Nigerian forward who joined from Aalesunds in March, have not precisely been prolific during the League Cup group stage.

Although he may have arrived too late to earn a starting position against Ross County on Saturday, new Australia international Apostolos Stamatelopoulos could prove to be the long-term answer, having netted 17 goals in 25 matches last season, even as Newcastle Jets finished a disappointing 10th in the A-League.

That said, he did struggle to score during his previous European stint with Giannina in the Greek Super League.
