A significant explosion transpired in the paddock during the test session ahead of this weekend’s six-hour Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie race.
Multiple individuals sustained injuries from the explosion of a compressed air cylinder, which took place during the closing moments of the pre-event tests, leading to an immediate cessation of the session.
The explosion happened while the compressed air cylinder was being filled. In response to the emergency, numerous ambulances and several rescue helicopters were deployed.
The mood in the paddock on the night before the six-hour race was tense, with bystanders also needing assistance. The area was cordoned off by the authorities.
