From the streets of Oakland to the corridors of the White House, Kamala Harris’ journey embodies the American Dream. Where else could the child of immigrants ascend to the nation’s highest office, breaking barriers along the way? Only in America.

She had numerous role models showing her what was possible. Arriving in the U.S. from India at 19, her mother became a celebrated biologist. Her father, who emigrated from Jamaica, studied at UC Berkeley and became a distinguished economist and professor at Stanford. They instilled in her not just the understanding of what exists or has existed, but the belief in what could be – not just who we are, but who we can become.

This mindset fueled her success as she attended Vanier College in Montreal, Howard University, and the University of California College of Law, San Francisco. It inspired her advocacy for justice, led her to prosecute serious criminals as the chief of the Career Criminal Division, and ultimately to serve as San Francisco’s district attorney, attorney general, U.S. senator, and vice president.

IT’S OFFICIAL: VICE PRESIDENT KAMALA HARRIS SECURES DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION

This vision equipped her to combat large banks that exploited working families through foreclosure. It empowered her to advocate for students and veterans misled by a for-profit education institution, and it provided her with the means to deliver rent relief and essential resources to low-income communities during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also championed student loan relief and contributed to the creation of millions of new jobs.

From campaign calls to rallies and local volunteers knocking on doors on a Saturday morning, people are mobilizing like never before across the nation. It’s unprecedented. It’s historic.

Now, as her moment arrives, she is seamlessly making her mark in history, and no one deserves it more. We acknowledge that politics is a competitive arena, and attacks are inescapable. Some have already begun.

However, it is evident that many opposing voices are resorting to outdated tactics of racism, bigotry, misogyny, ignorance, and hatred. From renewed birtherism and reducing the vice president to a token hire to mispronouncing her name deliberately, we see that as we approach a pivotal moment, the negativity only grows louder and more toxic.

2024 CASH DASH: HARRIS OUTPACES TRUMP IN LATEST FUNDRAISING REPORT

That’s alright. She can withstand it because the differences are clear.

This isn’t just about a prosecutor vs. a felon or the undeniable truth vs. a barrage of lies. It’s about progress compared to extremism. It’s about envisioning our potential.

Reflect on the groundbreaking legislation Vice President Harris played a crucial role in passing. Consider the executive orders she championed to raise wages, address climate change, protect reproductive freedom, and more. Now juxtapose that with the four years of loss and hardship seen under Donald Trump.

1 OF THESE 5 DEMOCRATS COULD BE HARRIS’ RUNNING MATE

Remember, elections are about future possibilities. Contrast former President Donald Trump’s nearly official endorsement of Project 2025 with President Harris signing a genuine bipartisan border security bill, safeguarding women’s rights, continuing the child tax credit that slashed child poverty, and building on the over 15 million jobs she has already helped create.

Face Trump’s proposal to declare martial law against President Harris’s commitment to strengthening the middle class, nurturing small businesses, expanding healthcare, shielding medical debt from credit reports, and ensuring no tax increases for Americans earning less than $400,000 annually.

While Harris recognizes affordable internet as a necessity for all Americans, MAGA Republicans refuse to support the Affordable Connectivity Program. And while they are fixated on fabricated crises, we remain focused on improving wages, bridging the wealth gap, lowering childcare costs, and ensuring healthcare does not lead to bankruptcy.

This is merely a glimpse of the contrasts.

In short, Vice President Harris represents a distinctive candidate in this generation, generating unparalleled energy and momentum for our nation. In less than a month since she announced her presidential campaign, she has begun to unify the Democratic base, expand our coalition, reshape our strategy, and have the Republicans scrambling.

In under two weeks, Vice President Harris has rallied nearly 200,000 volunteers, ignited grassroots organizing nationwide, secured the Democratic nomination, and raised $310 million – twice the amount Trump raised in all of July.

From campaign calls to rallies and local volunteers door-knocking on Saturdays, Americans are engaged like never before. It’s unprecedented. It’s historic.

Vice President Kamala Harris is a once-in-a-generation candidate facing a once-in-a-generation moment for America. The choice is unmistakable. Will we choose truth or falsehood? Will we choose hope over hate? Will we embrace the future or repeat the mistakes of the past?

As the vice president says, we are not going back.
