Ryan Crouser continues to be the premier shot put athlete globally.
For the third straight Olympic Games, the American has secured the shot put gold medal, achieving a remarkable throw of 22.90 meters and winning by a margin of 0.75 meters.
Crouser’s reign began in 2016 when he clinched gold in Rio with a throw of 22.52 meters, setting an Olympic record at the time.

He replicated his achievement five years later in Tokyo, improving with a new Olympic record throw of 23.30 meters.
Crouser currently holds the world record, having thrown 23.56 meters on May 27, 2023, during the USATF Los Angeles Grand Prix.

The 31-year-old athlete from Portland, Oregon was already showing prodigious talent in his youth, having claimed gold at the world youth championships in 2009 at the age of 16, recording a throw of 21.56 meters.
