Karl Stefanovic has openly criticized the French, stating they are ‘rude, pompous, and peculiar when it comes to sexuality.’
The Channel 9 host expressed these thoughts after spending time in Paris to cover the Olympic Games for the Australian network.
‘The French are indeed strange. They are truly a peculiar nation,’ he said during his appearance on the Kyle and Jackie O Show on Monday.
‘They definitely have some unusual traits, especially in terms of their sexual culture.’
Jackie Henderson inquired whether Stefanovic had tried speaking French with the locals, to which he responded curtly.
‘You know what? I’ve given up. I don’t have much affection for them,’ Stefanovic remarked.
‘They can be incredibly rude. They are so full of themselves… and pompous. That said, they do make a great burger. I do enjoy the burgers here.’

Stefanovic has been staying at an Airbnb with his wife Jasmine and their daughter Harper.
His family faced backlash after Jasmine posted on social media thanking Channel 9 following a dinner at the upscale Girafe Restaurant in Paris.
Critics pointed out that staff at the network had been laid off while they enjoyed their meal.
Last Thursday, the 49-year-old was seen showcasing his daughter Harper’s athletic skills while in Paris for the 2024 Olympics.
The father-daughter pair was spotted running through the streets as the Today host used a small pole for makeshift hurdles for his four-year-old daughter.
In a delightful video shared on Instagram, Karl beams while wearing a black T-shirt and shorts as he encouraged his beloved daughter.
Harper, dressed in a charming white dress with pink sneakers and a visor to shield her from the sun, sprinted excitedly down the sidewalk.
Karl jogged alongside her, occasionally lowering the pole to create a hurdle for Harper to jump over.
He captioned the video, ‘Brisbane 2032 Le 32 m Hurdles,’ while tagging the account of the Australian Olympic team.

This comes shortly after Karl’s wife Jasmine shared that she and daughter Harper are enjoying an upscale lifestyle while accompanying him to the Paris Olympics.
Jasmine, 40, who is in France with her husband as he reports for Channel Nine, posted multiple photos on social media showcasing their luxury housing.
The family seems to have benefited from an Airbnb partnership, highlighted by an image of Karl and Harper relaxing on a chaise lounge.
Another image featured a spacious bedroom with a king-size bed and stunning views of the city.
