- Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo is set to receive significant rewards
- He secured two gold medals at the Olympic Games
- Yulo has been awarded a lifetime supply of colonoscopies
Carlos Yulo, the Filipino gymnast, has gained national prominence due to his extraordinary performances in Paris.
At just 24, he is returning home with two monumental gold medals from the Olympic Games and is expected to be greeted as a hero.
According to CNBC, Yulo’s rewards extend far beyond just his medals.
He will allegedly be awarded 10 million pesos (£136,591) from the Philippine government, along with an additional 6 million pesos (£81,955) from the House of Representatives as cash incentives.
In addition to financial rewards, local businesses have come forward to support him. He has received a three-bedroom house in Taguig City, as well as a lifetime supply of ramen, mac and cheese, and colonoscopies.
‘Congratulations to our very own Golden Boy for securing his second gold medal in men’s artistic gymnastics – vault!’ a ramen restaurant in Calasiao announced via social media.
‘To honor your remarkable achievements, we are excited to offer you FREE LIFETIME RAMEN, not just for you, but also for your supportive girlfriend, Chloe Anjeleigh. Relish every bowl as a celebration of victory and love!’
Yulo has achieved the first medal of any kind for the Philippines in gymnastics and is only the second athlete to win multiple gold medals in the nation’s Olympic history.

‘I only hoped to perform well. I never expected to win a medal. It felt surreal, as I couldn’t get to sleep the night before,’ Yulo expressed on Sunday.
‘It hasn’t fully sunk in yet. This morning I felt so tired, unsure of what to do. But I accomplished it today,’ he added.
Philippine President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. remarked on Facebook: ‘Filipinos globally stood united, cheering you on, Yulo.’
‘Words cannot convey the pride we feel, Caloy. You’ve brought GOLD to the Philippines not once but twice!’
Yulo’s accolades are notably lavish when compared to those of Australian athletes.
In Australia, gold medalists receive $20,000, silver medalists get $15,000, and bronze winners earn $10,000 from the Australian Olympic Committee’s medals incentive fund.
Even athletes who win multiple golds do not receive more than $20,000 in total.
In contrast, Hong Kong athletes winning gold earn $1.17 million, while Singaporean gold winners receive $1.13 million.
