The think tank established by former Vice President Mike Pence issued a pointed criticism of Governor Tim Walz’s candidacy for the Democratic Party’s 2024 presidential ticket.
Advancing American Freedom, the policy organization created by Pence after his vice presidency under Donald Trump, released a memo on Wednesday detailing what they term Walz’s “radical record.”
“Gov. Walz is truly an ideal choice for Vice President Kamala Harris — a staunch leftist appealing to the rising Ilhan Omar faction of the Democratic Party,” commented AAF Executive Director Paul Tellers in a statement to Fox News Digital.

The memo accused Walz of “[fanning] the flames of Black Lives Matter riots” during the unrest in Minnesota in 2020, contributing to a transformation of the state into a “murder capital” with a 50% increase in homicide rates, and “[cutting] funding for pregnant women” while “[promoting] abortion-on-demand.”
The think tank further criticized Walz for making Minnesota a “trans refugee state,” having “signed laws permitting children to be taken from parents who do not support their minor child’s access to life-altering surgeries or so-called medical treatments.”
Walz’s selection at age 60 was anticipated, as his name was rumored to be in contention for two weeks following Harris’s ascension to the party’s leadership over President Biden.

Walz, a previous congressman, is currently serving his second term as Governor of Minnesota, a state long-sustained by Democratic victories in presidential elections but now eyed by the Trump campaign for a potential shift this election cycle.
The memo addresses several frequent criticisms directed at the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, including aggravating the border crisis via sanctuary laws and his management of religious institutions during COVID-19 lockdowns.

Pence has kept largely out of the ongoing 2024 presidential election after withdrawing late last year.
He previously declined to endorse his former running mate during the 2024 Republican presidential primary, indicating earlier this year that he would never support Biden’s re-election campaign.
The vice president’s think tank has launched a “Biden-Harris Accountability Tracker” on their website, which catalogs the administration’s policies and illustrates their negative consequences.
