Fitness expert Jillian Michaels criticized the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, calling it a “mockery” of “The Last Supper.”

Michaels took to social media to express her concerns to the LGBTQ+ community regarding the “hypocrisy” and “lack of understanding” she perceived in the parody of “The Last Supper,” which included several drag queen performers.

“This kind of hypocrisy and misunderstanding is detrimental. We react with outrage when the far-right attacks us, yet we engage in this nonsense. How do you think this will affect their perception of the LGBTQ+ community? This is NOT how we dismantle walls; it’s how we construct them.”

Michaels joined the widespread criticism of Friday night’s performance, where several drag queens and other performers were seen parodying the famous scene painted by Leonardo da Vinci, showing Jesus and his apostles at a final supper.

Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker, who gained attention earlier in May for expressing his faith during a graduation speech at a Catholic college in Kansas, also condemned the performance on social media, labeling it as “outrageous.”

He quoted a biblical verse, stating, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked.”
